Dear Friends:

It is with great sadness that WW&L announces the passing of Jim Walcott, who served as our President for more than three decades and as Chairman of the Board for many of those years.

Jim led WW&L through times of tremendous technological change, growth, and success.  He had a keen intelligence and curiosity, a passion for our industry, and an appreciation and respect for the work done every day to take care of our customers.  He took his role as steward of the company very seriously, frequently emphasizing that WW&L be the “best place to buy from” for our customers and the “best place to work” for our employees.

Jim was proud of our heritage and the trusted partnerships that WW&L maintained with so many sports and entertainment events.  After his transition to Executive Chairman in 2017, he continued to champion new products and services for our industry, to promote the company’s digital evolution and drive revenue and fan engagement opportunities for our partners.

If I try to select just one word to describe Jim, it is “impactful”.  Never a sideline kind of guy, he challenged the status quo and made a meaningful impact on anything he was involved in — company, industry, or community.

This year, as WW&L celebrates its 125th anniversary, we look forward to not only honoring Jim and his legacy but to carry it forward into the future.
